SINAI: A formation program for postulants from various houses of formation, bringing together both men and women for one ultimate goal: to grow in all aspects of formation.
Its commencement began on July 13, 2026, with a solemn Mass at the Virgin of the Poor Chapel at the SVD Laudato Si’ Farm. Following the Mass was a brief orientation about SINAI, which was later followed by a set of four tests designed to examine the participants’ personal backgrounds.
On the next day, something different happened—an experience that most people who enter religious formation would not expect to encounter. It was Theater Arts, the first module of our SINAI journey.
It was a fun-filled experience. We learned a lot about acting, dance, and even the proper way of presenting ourselves on stage. Ultimately, it fascinated me to realize that creativity knows no limitations. I saw a sister postulant lead a group with excellent creativity and discipline. I also saw some of my brothers who, despite the evident look of cringe, awkward movements, and hesitation on their faces, gave their absolute best to showcase what they had.
The module lasted for four days, culminating in a final presentation on the last day before an invited audience. After the final performance, I saw a sense of relief and fulfillment on the faces of all my co-postulants—not simply because the tiring exercises were over, but because we proved together that even in formation, the art play a vital role. It challenges us to grow not in mediocrity, but in a profoundly creative way.
At last, the curtain calls. The body aches have gradually faded, and the long, timeless rehearsals have come to an end. However, the lessons we learned, the experiences we shared, and the memories we made will continue to grow in our hearts and minds as we journey onward in our formation.
